Russell Watson was born in Salford, Lancashire in England in 1966.
Watson is an English tenor who has released popular operatic-styled/inspired albums. Famous not only for his music but also as a judge on the BBC’s “The Choir” reality show, and also for the removal and survival of a benign brain tumour which threatened to kill him or curtail his talent.
His albums are a mix of operatic and pop based covers and led to him winning the Classical Brit Awards “Album of the Year” award in 2001 and 2002.
He has also appeared in the UK in the stage adaptation of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds which toured the UK in 2006.
