Lazy searching (no typing…)

We bet you like lazing around just as much as we do, and you can’t get much more lazy than this.

When you’re passing the time reading and browsing, it’s a bit of a chore when you find something you want a quick price-comparison for.  You either have to navigate to ewelike and type in search terms from scratch, or you go through a boring cut’n'paste process:

  1. select text on the website you’re viewing
  2. cut using  keyboard, mouse or menus
  3. navigate to ewelike.com
  4. paste into the search field
  5. hit Search

We figured we could speed that up with a nifty little bookmark.  Once you’ve added the “→Ewelike” bookmark to your browser (dragged to Favorites, used the Add Bookmark… menu-item, or whatever)  - you’ll be able to search much faster:

  1. select text on random website
  2. click the  →Ewelike bookmark

Not only do you avoid having to re-type names of films, actors, games etc. – it’s also a really good way to  get a direct like-for-like price-comparison when you see a barcode or ISBN number (we’re pretty good with numbers!)

Examples

Once you’ve added the bookmarklet, try selecting “Barcode: 045496718749″ or “Daniel Craig, Gemma Arterton, Marc Forster” and hit the bookmark.

Sweet!

Hello Rogertastic5

Yes, we have a basic sidebar gadget for Vista (sorry not XP for all those that have asked). You can download it from the windows sidebar gadget gallery.

We also have another bookmarklet that allows you to move from Amazon pages to Ewelike (incase you want to check the prices for exactly the product you’re viewing on amazon) and a iGoogle gadget too.

We’ll be adding more gadgets in future – keep an eye out for them (and we’d love your feedback on all of them – we appreciate all feedback both negative and positive)
